This article really articulates why I have been having such a problem with tumblr lately, and with a lot of other stuff happening in all parts of my little liberal arts university bubble. There is no awareness of underlying racism in so many of the actions and statements of my self proclaimed “I’m not racist!” liberal generation. I am aware that I am guilty of many of these problems, and this is something I am working on personally—and probably will be my entire life because privilege and racism exist in society and therefore no one can escape the effects.
